We unfortunately have to limit the vendor capacity due to our event permit this year.
About the GLCA family market
The GLCA Market was started in 2019 with the primary focus of bringing the community of greater Lynfrae together in the beautiful surrounds of Keurboom Park, while showcasing the local small businesses in the area and giving them an opportunity to sell their items to their friends and neighbours.
Children are also given an opportunity to trade, selling everything from home-made cookies to arts and crafts while learning about the skills of entrepreneurship as well as giving back to those less fortunate than themselves. Stall fees earned from kids stalls are donated to a local charity.
Next market
Due to rain forecast for 27 October, GLCA Family Market has been moved to Sunday, 3 November at Keurboom Park from 9am – 2pm
Vendors
As the organisers of GLCA Keurboom Park Family Market, we choose our traders carefully. Applications are reviewed by a team and we will prioritise applicants who are paid-up members of the GLCA, however we encourage other traders to apply as well as we love bringing diversity to our market.
PLEASE NOTE that the market focus is on local, fresh, seasonal, home-made, small-businesses and will not accept applications for traders selling imported bulk items or bric a brac/second hand items.
About the GLCA
The Greater Lynfrae Civic Association (GLCA) is a voluntary organisation that facilitates a two-way flow of information between the Cape Town City Council and residents, and between residents themselves. This is done within the framework of promoting “the greater good for our neighbourhood”. We operate in the Greater Lynfrae area in Claremont, which spans across two wards, ward 58 and ward 59.
Becoming a GLCA member allows vendors to get a discount on stall fees. Note that you have to reside within the Greater Lynfrae area to be a member of the GLCA.
