The draft Subcouncil Amendment By-law, 2024 proposes new boundaries for 20 (twenty) Subcouncils, as well as the clustering of adjoining Wards to form the new Subcouncils.
Council has considered new Subcouncil boundaries with the vision to:
- Create a greater synergy in service delivery by aligning Subcouncil boundaries with City department’s Service Delivery Areas as far as possible;
- Streamline Subcouncil boundaries by reducing the number of Subcouncils from 21 to 20 Subcouncils; and
- Effect financial forethought and contribute to budget austerity measures by reducing the cost of one Subcouncil budget.
Council will review and consider your comments, objections and recommendations before making a final decision on the new Subcouncil boundaries.
