The Recreation and Parks Department has more than 400 ward allocated projects this financial year. As part of our future planning and to ensure that we optimise
our financial and human resources within our Department we would like to advise
you on our service offering for ward allocation from 25/26 financial year and
onwards.
This basket of service guide (attached) can be used as a guide for all future ward
allocation Projects. Our staff will in future not implement projects that are related
to vulnerable groups e.g. Youth skills development, seniors programs etc. that are
not linked to Recreation or Sport Development. These falls within the ambit of
Social Development and ECD and will have to be referred to this department.
Going forward only ward allocation projects that fall within this basket of service
will be considered for approval.
Services or Programs no longer offered that do not have a recreation or sport link
will include:

- Seniors Programme
- Youth Development
- Youth Leadership Development
- Women’s Day Programmes
